Is OpenBSD still most secure?
OpenBSD is considered by many people to be the most secure operating system for servers and firewalls. Why?
- It doesn't provide sandboxing tools, such as bubblewrap.
- It doesn't provide tools to reduce the kernel attack surface, such as gvisor or seccomp.
- It doesn't provide tools for mandatory access control, such as SELinux and AppArmor.
- It is mostly written in C, which is considered unsafe by modern standards.
- Additionally, it lacks security boot support, although this is not a significant issue for a server operating system.
