Can an Azure template contain a virus, a backdoor or malware?

Sometimes you can find projects on the internet that can propose you to import a template to Azure, like this one.

You have a button and if you click it allows you to deploy:

Then you go through the normal procedure and you put those stuff that are going to be created inside a Resource Group.

But you are actually deploying complex stuff like Storage Accounts, ADF, or C# code contained into Logic Apps, or PowerShell code into a workbook that can actually be executed.

Does Azure stops malicious Azure templates?

Does Azure Defender for Cloud scan the templates before deployment?
